Take payments the way Finland actually pays

Finnish shoppers expect bank buttons, MobilePay, wallets and invoice options, not only cards. I connect them through a Finnish payment provider such as Paytrail to Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or your own build, then test every method end to end. From €590.

Four rows a Finnish buyer scans for

A Finnish payment page is a grid of choices, not a single card form. Each row behaves differently after the buyer taps it, and each needs its own tests.

row 1

Online bank buttons

The buyer is sent to their own bank, confirms with the bank's usual sign-in, and comes back. One-off payments only; they cannot renew a subscription.

row 2

Phone wallets

MobilePay and Siirto confirm in a phone app; Apple Pay and Google Pay confirm on the device. The return trip to the store is where tests catch most problems.

row 3

Invoice and instalments

The provider or its partner decides who gets credit. Who carries an unpaid invoice depends on the provider's terms; read them before switching it on.

row 4

Cards

For buyers abroad and anyone without a Finnish bank. Usually through the same provider, so one contract still covers every row.

Already have a provider contract? I can usually start on the set-up the same week.

Questions about Finnish payment methods

Which Finnish payment provider should I choose?

The one whose current method list, contract terms and plugin for your platform fit your store. Several Finnish providers bundle bank buttons, wallets, cards and invoice under one agreement. I compare two or three on their own published pages and check how well each plugin is maintained; you choose and sign.

Do I need a separate contract with each bank?

Usually not. A Finnish payment provider gives you the bank buttons, wallets and cards under one agreement with the provider. Some methods are exceptions; one provider's page notes that PayPal needs a direct agreement with PayPal. Pikselipolku does not process money or hold card data: you contract with the provider directly.

Can foreign customers still pay by card?

Yes. Finnish providers also take the major card schemes; one provider's page lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Buyers abroad skip the bank buttons and pay by card or wallet. If most buyers are abroad, I may suggest a card-first provider alongside and show you the trade-off in writing first.

When a Finnish provider is not the answer

Bank buttons only help if your buyers have Finnish banks.

  • 01Most of your buyers are abroad. A card-first provider may serve them better, with Finnish methods added later.
  • 02You sell only subscriptions. Bank buttons cannot renew, so saved cards matter more than a full grid of banks.
  • 03Your platform has no maintained plugin for the provider you want. I will say so before you sign, not after.
