How a render is made

Drag the slider. The same sample product goes through the four passes every render on this site goes through, and you sign off the clay pass before colour and light go on.

WireframeEvery face of the mesh. Checks shape, topology and the polygon budget before anything else.
ClayOne neutral material. Judges proportions and light without colour getting in the way.
TexturedColours, label and surface detail mapped onto the model, still under flat light.
Final renderStudio light, soft shadow, rim light and reflections: the image that goes on your product page.

Made in Blender, delivered in your format

Every model, render and animation on this site is made in Blender, start to finish. Select a stage to see what happens there and what you receive. Use the arrow keys to move along the pipeline.

Stage 2 of 6

Model

The object is built in Blender as clean, quad-based geometry at real-world scale in millimetres. Hard edges are bevelled so they catch light, and CAD files are converted to mesh and tidied here. You sign off a grey clay preview before anything else happens.

You receive

Clay preview images from three angles for sign-off.

Why Blender, and what you get

Files I acceptSTEP or IGES from CAD (converted to mesh), OBJ, FBX, STL, glTF or GLB, .blend files, and plain sketches or photos with dimensions.

Questions about 3D

What do you need to start a 3D project?

Photos from several angles, the main dimensions and, if you have them, drawings or CAD files such as STEP or OBJ. Tell me where the result will be used, for example an online store, a catalogue or an AR viewer, and when you need it. Brand colours and material samples help me match finishes.

Which file formats do you deliver?

GLB for websites and Android AR, USDZ for AR on iPhone and iPad, FBX or OBJ for other 3D tools, and STL or 3MF for printing. Renders come as full-resolution PNG or JPG plus web-optimised WebP or AVIF. You get the formats your platform needs, plus the Blender .blend source file.

How long does a product render take?

A first render from an existing model usually takes two to four working days. If the model has to be built first, add three to seven days depending on detail. You see a clay preview before final light and materials, so changes happen early. owner to confirm
