Accurate 3D product models, optimised for where they will be used

Models built from sketches, photos, dimensions or CAD, with clean topology and the polygon budget the destination needs: web, AR, render or print. Delivered as GLB, FBX, OBJ or STL. From €290.

The preview fills faces at up to about 1,000 polygons and draws every edge of the real mesh on top, so the wireframe is the true density.

How many polygons, which textures, which file

The same chair is four different files depending on where it goes. These are the budgets I start from; the product and the platform adjust them.

What I can model from

Accuracy follows the source. Tell me what you have and I will say how close the model can get.

Sketches and drawings

Front and side views with a few real measurements. I build to the numbers, not to the line weight, and flag anything the drawing leaves open.

Photos

Front, side, back and top, ideally with a ruler or a known object in frame. A longer lens from further away keeps proportions honest.

Dimensions only

A measured list of width, depth, height and main radii is often enough for simple products such as boxes, bottles and furniture.

CAD files

STEP or IGES files are converted from exact NURBS surfaces to a clean polygon mesh at the budget you need, keeping the dimensions, then finished in Blender. Designing in SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or Rhino? Export to STEP, OBJ or FBX and send that; I do not need the native file or the software.

Modelling prices

Proposed from-prices in euros, excluding VAT 25.5 %. The written quote is fixed before work starts and depends on detail, parts and materials.

You approve the proportions before the detail. A grey blockout measured against your dimensions comes first. If it is off, it is fixed then, before topology, UVs and materials go on and before the second half of the invoice.

Send a sketch, photos or a CAD file. You get a fixed price within one working day.

From reference to delivered file

Five steps, all in Blender. You see the model at each one.

  1. 1

    References

Sketches, photos, dimensions or CAD, plus where the model will be used.

  2. 2

    Blockout

Grey proportions checked against your measurements. You approve the shape.

  3. 3

    Topology

Hard-surface modelling with edge loops where it bends and bevels that catch light. Converted CAD and scans get retopology, so density sits only where it shows.

  4. 4

    UVs and materials

Unwrapped once in Blender, PBR maps: base colour, normal, roughness and metalness. Colour and size variants are driven by Geometry Nodes, not rebuilt by hand.

  5. 5

    Export and check

Per destination: compression for web, real-world scale for AR, watertight for print.

Modelling tool: Blender. Hard-surface modelling, retopology, UV unwrapping and Geometry Nodes for colour and size variants all happen in one Blender file, which you receive with the exports. Why Blender, and what you get

When I would not recommend a custom model

A new model is not always the cheapest way to a good result.

  • You need manufacturing CAD with tolerances and fits. That is product engineering. I make visual models, and I can convert your engineer's CAD for web, renders or AR.
  • The manufacturer already supplies a GLB or USDZ. Check it first: a cleanup and a lighter export, billed at €95 an hour, may be all it needs.
  • The product changes every season and appears in only a few images. Photography may cost less than modelling each version.

Questions about 3D modelling

What can you model from?

Almost any reference that shows shape and size. CAD files such as STEP or IGES give exact dimensions. Sketches, technical drawings or photos from the front, side and top work too, as long as you add a few real measurements. The more precise the reference, the closer the model, so accuracy follows the source.

How many polygons does a web model need?

Usually between 5,000 and 30,000 triangles for a single product in a web viewer, which keeps the silhouette smooth and the file small. Textures often matter more than triangles for download size. Fine detail such as stitching or engraving is baked into a normal map instead of being modelled as geometry.

Do I get the source file?

Yes. You receive the working source file, the Blender .blend file, alongside the exported GLB, FBX, OBJ or STL, and you get the usage rights to the finished model. Any third-party textures or assets with their own licences are listed in the handover, so you know what you can reuse. owner to confirm
