Marketplaces and shopping feeds have their own image rules, such as a pure white main image or no text on the product image. I follow the current rules for each channel you name; check them for your account too. Images for feeds pair well with product feeds for Google, Meta and TikTok.

Every render goes through four passes

Wireframe, clay, textured, final. You sign off the clay pass, so shape and camera are agreed before a single colour is matched. Drag the slider to see each pass.

WireframeEvery face of the mesh. Checks shape, topology and the polygon budget before anything else.
ClayOne neutral material. Judges proportions and light without colour getting in the way.
TexturedColours, label and surface detail mapped onto the model, still under flat light.
Final renderStudio light, soft shadow, rim light and reflections: the image that goes on your product page.

From CAD file to product page

Five steps, each with something you can look at and approve.

  1. 1

    Model in

STEP, OBJ, FBX or GLB. No model yet? Photos and dimensions, and I model it first.

  2. 2

    Clay sign-off

One neutral render per angle. You approve shape, crop and camera height.

  3. 3

    Materials

Colours from codes or posted samples, label artwork from your vector files.

  4. 4

    Light and render

The saved studio rig in Blender, so a product added next season matches this one. Packshots render in Cycles, Blender's path tracer, for true shadows, reflections and glass; EEVEE, its real-time engine, gives a fast consistent look for colour variants and turntables.

  5. 5

    Delivery

Full-resolution PNG or TIFF plus web WebP or AVIF, named by SKU and angle.

When a photo shoot is the better choice

Renders are not always the cheaper or the more convincing option. I will tell you when they are not.

  • Food, cut flowers and soft textiles with a natural drape. A photographer captures them faster, and they read as real straight away.
  • You need people: hands holding the product, faces, a moment of use. That is a shoot with models, not a render.
  • One or two products that never change, and a good photographer nearby. A half-day studio booking may cost less than modelling plus rendering.

Questions about product renders

Can renders replace product photography?

For most hard goods, yes. Bottles, boxes, furniture, electronics and packaging render convincingly, and every angle and colour stays consistent. Photography still wins for food, people using the product, and very soft or fuzzy materials such as knitwear or fur. Many stores mix both: renders for the catalogue, photos for campaigns.

Can you make colour variants?

Yes, and this is where 3D saves the most. Once the model and light are set, each colour or finish is a material change rendered from exactly the same camera, so the variants line up perfectly on the product page. Send colour codes or physical samples; Pantone or RAL references help me match them.

What do you need from me to start?

A 3D model or CAD file if you have one, such as STEP, OBJ or FBX. Without one, photos from several angles and the main dimensions let me model it first. Add your label artwork as vector files, colour references, and the list of shots and image sizes your store needs.
